DDIM.projekt // 2018 – Interim Management Excellence
Peter Kuhle receives the Interim Management Project of the Year 2018 award: Realignment of Field Service Operations at Unitymedia
Bad Honnef, November 15, 2018. Interim Manager Peter Kuhle is honored with the “DDIM.projekt // 2018 – Interim Management Excellence” award in the “Return on Interim Management” category for the realignment of the Field Service Operations department at Unitymedia. The project, which Peter Kuhle undertook on behalf of the consulting firm Iskander Business Partner for the cable network operator based in Cologne, impressed with its high customer value and sustainable success in terms of efficiency and effectiveness improvement.
The mandate was awarded in the Return on Interim Management (RoIM) category, which describes the ratio of interim management costs to quantifiable benefits. The project focused on the implementation of a new operating model in a challenging operational situation, where leadership in change management received special attention. The high customer value and sustainable success of the mandate for the company are particularly noteworthy. The high customer satisfaction also led to a mandate extension with expanded requirements.
Customer satisfaction, growth, and digitalization are drivers for change processes in the service industry. To better meet these needs in the future, extensive changes were initiated in the Technical Service department of Unitymedia. This included the realignment of the service partner landscape, the introduction of a new management platform (digitalization), and the alignment of the organization based on new processes and digitalization capabilities. Through the implementation of a new operating model, holistic control over all process participants was reorchestrated with the aim of achieving the best possible results for customers.
Christoph Stumpp, Vice President Technical Customer Service at Unitymedia, stated, “As part of the realignment of our technical field service, Mr. Kuhle conceptualized and implemented a comprehensive management model and aligned our organization for future requirements. The efficiency and effectiveness gains we achieved in a short period, along with increasing customer satisfaction, speak for themselves. Thanks to his leadership skills, he successfully guided our employees and partners through this groundbreaking change process. We congratulate him warmly on this award.”
Dr. Marei Strack, Chairman of the Board of DDIM, congratulated the winner and commented, “I congratulate Mr. Kuhle on this mandate. One of the greatest accolades is certainly when the customer extends the mandate and expands the scope of responsibilities.”
This year, the German Interim Management Association (DDIM) awarded four mandates that demonstrated particularly high customer value and showcased the strengths and opportunities for companies. These mandates represent the positive development of interim management.
The award ceremony took place during the DDIM Congress on November 10, 2018, in Düsseldorf. In addition to Peter Kuhle, three other interim managers were recognized for their mandates. The jury consisted of Dr. Marei Strack, Chairman of the Board of DDIM, Harald Meyer, Board Member of DDIM, Sven Astheimer, Business Journalist at FAZ, and Stefan Burk, Board Member of IWBF.
